A slightly belated weekend round-up this time. We only had an iPhone to document our adventures – so I had to wait for my husband to share the photos with me so in turn I could share them with you!
This past weekend included another getaway, this time up to the Bay Area and wine country.
Saturday we met up with our good friends, the Camerons, for some wine tasting in Napa. Hitting up some well-known wineries, eating some delicious food and enjoying great company, we had an amazing day.
Where we tasted
Where we ate
Bouchon (truly amazing sandwiches and pastries – worth the wait in line)
Gott’s (formerly Taylor’s Refresher)
That night Steve and I wrapped up our amazing day at our favorite city haunt, Comstock Saloon.

The next day we ventured down into SOMA where we bought a perfect mid-century modern loveseat and ottoman to accompany the couch we have in our living room. One has to appreciate that the best furniture in the city can be found in the same area as where people openly toke up their crack pipes. Not really an area I ventured into during my time up there, so it was an experience, to say the least.
Slowly but surely we are getting our space updated and where we want it. Now that we have the main pieces of furniture I can get started on the fun details (sewing pillows, finding throws, working on the decor). Always good to have a new project (or many projects) just around the corner.

Hey after a day of wines, is that a Manhatten I spy at the Comstock Saloon?
I’m heading out tomorrow with my mom to look for pillow fabric too– we just got our new sofa today, a simple but very comfy seat in a buff coloured denim-ish fabric– comfy, but dull, so I’m off to find colour. Did you ever see the movie, “The Decendants”, with George Clooney? The sofa in the final scene, the one that he’s snuggling with his daughters in, eating ice cream and watching “March of the Penguines”— that’s what we’re going for. Send photos of your new find!
What a lovely weekend! Cute pictures too!
Thanks! Steve did pretty good with just having the iPhone!
